Colin J. P. McKean, M.Sc., R.P.Bio., is a freshwater biologist by trade and has been working in the field of environmental management for 40+ years. Colin specializes in the development and implementation of Environmental, Health and Safety Programs for businesses and industrial sectors.
During his career, Colin worked with the BC Ministry of Environment for 19 years as a scientist and manager. At the end of his government career, Colin managed the development of BC’s EPR regulations that included household products including: pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fuels and solvents.
Currently, Colin is the Executive Director of the Canadian Battery Association and is responsible for developing a national product stewardship program for lead batteries that meets Federal and Provincial regulatory requirements.
