Richard Adjei

Richard Adjei has worked in the field of environmental engineering and waste management for over 15 years. As a Senior Waste Policy Advisor with Alberta Environment and Parks, Richard is responsible for developing a variety provincial waste management policies and works collaboratively with certifying partners and other stakeholders in managing Alberta’s Landfill and Composting Facility Operator Certification program. To strengthen and modernize Alberta’s composting regulatory framework, Richard led the review and development an updated Code of Practice for Compost Facilities which was published on January 14, 2022.

Prior to joining the Government of Alberta, Richard worked in the waste management industry in Europe, and as a Technology Development Specialist with the Edmonton Waste Management Center of Excellence where he worked on several projects related to wastewater treatment, solid waste management, waste-to-energy, and composting.

Richard holds a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor’s in Biochemical Engineering from Jacobs University, Germany.
